The artist Jerry Johnston and his wife Melinda live in Fort Worth, Texas and have embraced the urban lifestyle living directly above the Starbucks in Historic Sundance Square.

 

“The Onward Series was created using recycled Starbucks materials, found objects and images from catalogues (Orvis) and magazines (The Economist and Harvard Business Review). Every time I enter or leave my loft I am embraced by the aroma of Starbucks coffee. To me, living downtown will always be associated with that smell.”

 

The mixed media works are acrylic paint on gessoed fiberboard with found materials and photo images.
